The Hidden Talents of The Not Quite Adult

Today’s post is part of the monthly linkup series hosted by the wonderful Victoria and Meg of the B Bar. Their word of the month this month is Leverage, and true to form, this months question follows the theme. As usual please share some love with the ladies linked below!

What are your hidden talents?

So here you go, two of my many hidden talents…

Shooting

I am an expert marksman. Usually when people ask why/how, I explain that my dad had no sons, and he enrolled me in a 22 rifle shooting program at 10. In reality it is because, my dad had no sons, and I really loved it. I started out shooting at 10, ended up coaching with the program by the time I went to college and won a few awards in there. Once I became familiar with rifles, I learned how to shoot a shotgun and then eventually a pistol. My whole family has taken up sporting clay shooting as a great thing to do over holidays, with a little bit of competition, and a lot of fun.Screen Shot 2015-07-14 at 9.45.46 PM

Karaoke

Yup. I Love. Love. Love Karaoke. I love all songs, all genres, and most karaoke places. Once I even won $100. It’s true. My go-to songs are Wut’s Luv (Ashanti and Fat Joe), Let Me Blow Ya Mind (Eve and Gwen Stefani), Oh Happy Day (Lauryn Hill), All Coming Back To Me Now (Celine Dion). It honestly doesn’t take too much to get me to sing, but karaoke is always best with one Jello Shot, preferably at the Karaoke Kid in Madison, so if you are there, be sure to take a spin with the mic.

Yes, these are just a few of my hidden talents, while I cannot leverage either of them for blogging or professional purposes, they are my most fun.

This was a fun one! Karaoke isn’t really a hidden talent of mine, more like a super talent. Hahaha. I ABSOLUTELY love karaoke as well! I could do it every weekend if I wanted to.

Shooting is so interesting! I don’t think I’ve ever actually held a rifle in my life? I need to remember, lol.

  6. Love this! I’d totally join you in Karaoke. “Man, I feel like a woman” by Shania Twain is my song of choice!

  9. Oh my, these are awesome talents! I come from a family of outdoorsmen (and women!) so I grew up shooting but eventually stopped as I got older. Congrats on all your achievements!

I am VERY jealous of your shooting talents. I wish that my dad had pushed me harder to take up shooting and hunting, but I was a wimp when it came to waking up early and sitting out in the snow. Thanks for sharing!

  12. I love your go to songs! When Let Me Blow Ya Mind & What’s Luv come on the radio, I stop whatever I’m doing and automatically sing along! It’s so hard not to!

  15. Shooting is definitely a hidden talent, although I’ve been meeting more and more people who are into that hobby/sport. My 22 year old daughter and her boyfriend just moved in together and I have their apartment on my blog this past week and I’ll be showing a DIY I made for them tomorrow. I am following your blog because I want to see your new life in Boston, sounds exciting and kudos to you for having such a great attitude.
