Getting Beautiful with Arch Apothecary Pt 1

Have you ever walked into a store and ever thought “I could live here?” Well, that was my initial reaction when I walked into Arch Apothecary on the square in Madison.

When I find someplace I love, I want to tell everyone about it, and this is no exception. Not only is it full of the most beautiful beauty products out there, but the reclaimed wood floors and gorgeous art on the walls makes it feel homey as well. I want all of the beauty products. All. Of. Them.

Cera and the ladies at Arch in Madison were kind enough to treat me to a makeup application and blow out a few weeks ago. It was FABULOUS! What a great way to prep for a special date night or engagement photos.

Let’s talk about the makeup first. Honestly, the products at Arch are top notch. I have told you about my affection for RMS before, but Piper introduced me to even more brands that I had never heard of.
For the look, we decided to go for a casual summer feel. Something great to go to a barbecue or to spend some time at the terrace.

To start, Piper applied a great moisturizer, the NaturaBisse C+C Vitamin Cream followed by the Sunday Riley Start Over Corrective Gel. I loved the eye cream and the cooling sensation when applied.

For a light and gentle foundation, she used a NARS Primer followed by the By Terry Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream. By Terry products are in my words, a skincare and makeup fusion. They are chock full of hyaluronic acid and rose extracts and they smell gorgeous! It feels and smells so luxurious to apply.
Piper applied the CC Cream with a beauty blender, and recommended applying products with a brush or a blender because it allows you to use less product and achieve a better application. With the beauty blender and the CC Cream, I could not agree more.
Next she applied the Smile Lip to Cheek Tint from RMS with the Mizubake brush by Nars. It is a great coral pink for a summery glow and the brush applied the tint so well. I would usually apply this with my finger, but the brush and stippling it on the cheek provides even better coverage and tint. I needed this brush, and I think it needed me too.

On my eyes, Piper used e119 a neutral cream shadow by Ellis Faas as a base, and then Jouer Toffee and Caramel for accents. It was a light complement to the summer look. To top it off, she used the RMS Volumizing Mascara.
For the lips, she used the Lodhi by Nars lip pencil. I might not have otherwise picked that color, but it looked great.
If you are looking for a great place to get your makeup done for a big night out, engagement photos, or even your whole wedding party, Arch Apothecary is the place! Thank you, Piper, Cera, and the ladies of Arch for pampering me, and thank you to Ali for taking these great photos.

Come back later this week to see the rest of the look!
