I don’t know about you, but when I walked into the Yum Yum Fest a few weekends ago, all I could think was, “Wow, this pretty much sums up Madison”. The Yum Yum fest is a new food festival coordinated by the recently founded Madison Area Chef Network in the new Central Park on the East Side of downtown Madison. Lots of new to be had! And it was great!
Unsure of what to expect, we arrived early and made a run for the ticket tent. We did a lap around the food stands to see what was for dinner. SO many of my favorite local restaurants had great showings, and there were plenty of new restaurants I haven’t yet tried. All restaurants were offering appetizers, mini-entrees or desserts for the Fest goers. There was even an AirStream Bar with craft cocktails and a beer tent serving all local brews. Pretty much all of Madison food magic in one big park!
There was music too, but the real star of this event was the food by far. Below are some pictures of the munchies we snacked on. I wish I remembered more of the restaurants who cooked the goodies. It was unseasonably sweltering, but I cannot wait for next year’s!
