This week I was lucky enough to travel to New York City. I was born in New York and always a get a little bubble of happiness when I land in Laguardia.
We stayed in the Seaport area, in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge on Pearl St, and the office was in the Financial District, both areas I am completely unfamiliar with. Thankfully we travel in packs, and I was introduced (thanks Tony) to a new philosophy for Yelping – only go to places with greater than 4 stars. This is especially useful in a big city with plenty of options near by, to help whittle down the selections, and will be implemented immediately in Boston.
We instituted this policy after a very mediocre breakfast at a deli, and it served us very well. Everything we tried using this theory was great. Pizza with a whole pig worth of prosciutto on it, delicious lunch crepe, Bagels with all the lox and scallion schmear – all delicious.
I also got to go to the Big Gay Ice Cream with my cousin! I didn’t realize that their “thing” was putting salt on ice cream, but as someone who likes to put a bit of salt on pancakes, this was right up my alley and very delicious!
A trip of many firsts, but so happy to be home for the long weekend and head up to our friend’s cottage.
